Attention All Hands: This is not the Thorn,
repeat,
not the Thorn! All hands can calm
down and relax. This is
not the Thorn!
Unfortunately these photo's below are of the Spruance
Class Destroyer U.S.S. JOHN YOUNG DD-973, a
sistership to the USS THORN DD 988, meeting it's end
from a MK 48 ADCAP naval torpedo fired from the
U.S.S. PASADENA SSN-752

Note: Ship has been stripped of armament and radar,
boats, etc.
Interesting Fact: To date 14 of the
30 Spruance Class Destroyers
have been expended during
SINKEX's. A list of the vessels sunk
will be posted here and hopefully
along with pictures.
